Developer & App Distribution Terms

These terms apply to any developer who submits an app for distribution through SwiftStore, and to every app listed in the catalog. They sit alongside our general Terms of Use and are what we mean when we say an app is "accepted" into SwiftStore.

An app we distribute must:

• Be legal to distribute in the EU, and not contain illegal content.
• Do what its listing says it does, with no hidden or deceptive functionality.
• Own or hold a license to everything it ships: code, names, icons, screenshots, and other assets.
• Carry an accurate age rating and content description.
• Not contain malware, or code designed to damage, surveil, or take over a device without the user's knowledge.

We check submissions against these standards before listing, and keep checking after. See Trust & Safety for how.

A developer must clearly disclose, in the app's listing:

• Whether the app is free, paid, or uses in-app purchases or subscriptions.
• The price, in euros, with no hidden fees added after purchase.
• How a subscription renews and how a user cancels it.
• A working support contact for refunds and complaints.

Purchases are handled through Apple's alternative-distribution payment flow. Dark patterns, meaning designs built to trick someone into paying or subscribing, are not allowed, and we reject or remove apps that use them.

A developer who wants the "SwiftStore Certified" badge must submit verifiable evidence that the app runs its AI fully on-device: no server call for the features being certified. We spot-check these claims, and a developer who misrepresents them loses the badge and may be removed from the marketplace.

A developer submits the app, its metadata, and confirms agreement to these terms. Before listing, we review the submission for content standards, business model disclosure, intellectual property (see IP review), and malicious behavior (see fraud & malicious-app monitoring). We accept apps that meet these terms and decline, with a reason, those that don't.

Meeting these terms once isn't enough: we monitor listed apps on an ongoing basis. A developer who violates these terms gets a warning where the issue isn't urgent, with a chance to fix it. We remove an app immediately, without warning, where there's a safety, legal, or repeat-infringement reason to. A developer that repeatedly violates these terms is removed from the marketplace entirely.

We may update these terms as the marketplace grows. We'll change the date at the top when we do, and notify developers with apps already listed of any change that affects them.
